Newey Track Walk

Today at a last minute thing since the kids were getting bored and just being a pain, we decided to take them to the Newey for a walk.  We walked around and looked at things, they learnt a fair bit, well Dakota mostly she was more interested in the learning part of it than Lukas.

The walk took us 1.5hours and they both walked pretty much the whole time, wall ran.

Heading off on our adventure, kids had a blast picking up rocks, looking at the trees, hiding in the trees and following the car tracks we found

Damian decided to throw rocks into the water and the kids decided that looked like fun and it was.  Check out the splash of one of the big rocks.

On walk the kids were happy to learn things, finding smooth and rough leaves, finding insects (but not touching them), flying like a plane and balancing on the white lines 

There was this one bird we saw that I really wanted a photo of and I went and got it. 

Had eagle shots too, but they didn't turn out as well, I only noticed it cause Damian showed Dakota by the time I got the camera on and aimed it was pretty much gone

Hopefully this has tired the kids out for bedtime tonight

Dakota counts down

My mum, nana and sister arrive in Cobar on Monday

I never told her there were 3 sleeps left the last time i told her the number it was 5 sleeps to go

Well this is our first real storm in Cobar....

Semi storm in Cobar

Well i have been here 2 weeks now and have been though 6 power cuts (4 of those in the same day lol) well last night we got hit with thunder, lightning and rain...

I took a video of the lightning last night, i must say the lightning is pretty neat to watch, we cant see it from our lounge unless the outside door is open, keeping the shade door closed, this video was taken from out the front door.

I only JUST got home and it starting pissing down with rain with thunder and lightning to follow Dakota was outside under the cover before we knew it with Damian of course, getting all excited about the loud thunder and trying to see the lightning, Lukas on the other hand wasnt impressed with it at all, i guess he isn't a fan.

Christmas market

Well tonight was the first Cobar market i have been to this one happened to be the christmas market, there werent as many stalls as im use to in NZ, but there was a little bit there, food, etc and santa...

Didnt get alot of photos of the markets, we did however buy a couple of xmas presents i cant really put them up here though. so you might have to wait till xmas.

But what i can say is, i sussed out the market on what people sell/make etc and i think my stuff might work well there, there is one person that makes kind of the same things as me, but her prices are twice on what i sell my items for.

We met up with Damians mum there and the 3 of us sat down while the kids played and then Dakota wanted her face painted like a tiger, well a tiger turned into a butterfly lol girls and changing their minds

The park

Well there is a park RIGHT across the road from us its so neat so thought i would share

Neat huh? the kids love it, and the bonus is its just across the road, its fenced off and kids cant get out

First day on own

Well today was the first day on my own with the kids in a new town, since Damian had to go back to work, he is doing the 4 days work then will be off again on thursday for 4 days.

Well it started ok

Dakota woke at 6.30am and Lukas woke at 7am

They had breakfast while i had a shower which was great.

I opened up the door for them to play outside, it had been raining but only lasted about 5mins so they went to the dirt area and played nicely

This patch of dirt is up the front of the fence by the front, Dakota loves it, its like her very own sand pit as the dirt is very very fine..

I needed to go to the supermarket so got the kids all ready (Dakota not happy she had to leave her sandpit), got out the front door to cross the road and the rain came again, it did this on and off all day.

Thats when the kids started fighting with each other, and wouldn't behave, they just wanted to annoy each other, so two dvd's got watched, Wiggles and Polkadots, then of course i put on music so they could dance while i got the kitchen sorted.

After the kitchen i decided to put together the last dressing table this took me an hour after the kids thought they would "help"

Well i finally got to sit down and talking to mum, after the kids had dinner and a bath and it went really really quiet, i went looking for them and found this...

Not sure if you can see that very well, but it was on all 4 walls and the door frame, a mess 3 different colours, yup they got hold of the felt pens and off they went, i was one very angry mummy, sent both kids to their rooms to leave me alone.

I posted a picture on facebook asking for help to get it off, jif was working but took a while so sat down again to have a short break then a knock at the door, Kerry my mother in law was standing there with magic erasers so we both went into the room and in 40mins we got all the pen off the walls, those kids are lucky i tell you.

They did go to bed without a story tonight

Damian got home and cooked us dinner as i couldnt work out how to use the new oven thing

So that was the first day, i believe they were naughty because they thought daddy had gone and wasnt coming back, and whatever i told them i wasnt to be believed.
