Uniform dressers part 3 and a new project

I finally got them painted and finished tonight so pleased with them cant wait till the kids see them in the morning.

Now that those are done and look great.  I have started this for Lukas he loves turtles.

So today I decided I was going to sand it all down.  Now hayfever kicked into me, but I still did it cause well i'm sick anyway and I cant just sit on the couch and feel sorry for myself.

It took a while to get pretty much all done to a good smooth painting surface.  But its done now.  bits of paint still can be seen but not going to be seen on the final ending product.

Uniform dressers

Well lets try this again - since I had a few complaints that my blog went quiet very sorry for that.  I will give it another go this year.

So first post for the year

HAPPY NEW YEAR to start with.

Since both kids are starting school in Feb this year OMG yes Lukas starts school they both will have school uniform so i have decided to do them both up school uniform dressing tables.  Of course Lukas had a dresser in his cupboard so we will be using that, and Dakota i got one off a free page, PREFECT.

Dakotas dressing table, didnt get one of the before, but it had stickers all over the draws and it was all purple.  I have started stripping the paint in this photo

Lukas one was part of a set but the rest of the set has gone so its time to strip this one off too

Both dressing tables started being stripped

Stripped as much as i can, the sander will do the rest.  The colourful dresser was used with oil paints so it takes alot more effort to get the paint off.    Since this is done over the weekend i will sand it down then can repaint with the colours the kids have chosen.

Shelf unit

Damian started making me a shelf unit for the kitchen.  You can see the start of it here

Well this morning the craft table was finished, the painting was completed, the PVC was put on the top of the table and everything put together.

More Crafty Table

Its finally getting there slowly but surely, have started working on the bookcase part of it now too.

The kids wanted to help with the bookcase bit today, so both got a roller and old clothes on and off they went. Of course i have since gone over it with another coat and got it really white ready for the black and red coatings

Even have the pieces that will go on top of the table :)

Getting the table more and more painted.

Done the semi gloss black with no white gaps now, and the red stripe with the white top, need to do more white once I buy some more.

But I'm happy with how its looking so far

So I got two undercoats of white on and now started on the black

Project day

After all the housework was done and I mean EVERYTHING, even the husband cleaned our bathroom while I did the kids bathroom.

We got started on projects.

I want something for the space where the dishwasher is, cause I want the dishwasher removed and more shelf space.

I drew a rough thing of what I wanted and showed him what heights I need the shelfs and I want it on wheels.  Yup not alot of demands really.

So Damian got to it

This bit is the bench top part.

Then I got the undercoat of the craft table.  Of course being an undercoat its not the prettiest thing but it will work once all the colours are on.

So projects are under way...watch this space

craft table day 2

So today being a weekend we got back into working on the craft table.

First thing was to pick up the bookcase, that we brought from trade me

Then Damian got into sanding the table with help from Lukas

Then I got stuck into the bookcase, first removing the legs.  With a quick unscrew and a bang with the hammer they were off

Then it was time to paint over paint remover to get rid of the paint on top.  It turns out there are about 3 layers of paint on each shelf all different colours, so its been painted over and over again.

Scrapped off all the paint remover with the paint since it was bubbling had to do another layer of paint remover once I had cleared everything I could off.

Table is starting to look good the poly filler has filled holes we didnt even know was there so a bonus of pretty much covering up the whole table with it.

Some more work on the bookcase.  It really looks worse for wear but will look much better when im finally finished with it.
