Well the last few weeks i have had a sore and itchy head.
On friday morning i woke with that numb feeling on the left hand side of my head but i could still feel pain, we went out to albany and it got worse going down my neck, chest and shoulders. driving home and i ring healthline (i have hands free) and was told hosp ASAP so i got home, sorted out care for 3 kids and someone to take me to hosp. Gotta love friends and family at times like this, i had a friend come round to watch 3 kids, another friend drive me to the hosp then my parents turned up took my two kids, my neighbour who drove me took the child i look after during the day till her mum could pick her up after work, and my other friend went home.
In hosp i lost feeling in my whole left arm and fingers and fingers in my right hand too, i couldn't hold a pen, meanwhile my head is getting more sore and really painful. got to hosp about 1ish and got discharged at 6.30pm being told no driving etc, they did bloods etc but nothing came with those, even took blood from my wrist where the pulse is, OMG that hurt big time.
Well i was put on steriods for 4 days and if i get worse back to hosp or GP after steroids are finished.
Yesterday i woke with a headache and i mean a bad headache come on with no warning, pain pills weren't working and it carried on, then i started feeling sick. Back to the hosp at 2.30pm when my mum was able to take me and my step dad watched the kiddies. after 3 hours of waiting in bed nurse has already seen me, he asked me what was going on and he thought "thunderclap headache" these come on with no warning and is a bleed or something in the head (scary) i had tears running down my face, noone with me and scared.
At approx 8pm i finally got my CT scan and that showed nothing, so that gave me a relief and i felt a little better BUT i still had a choice if i was going to have a lumber puncher or not, i took the chance of having one as my thoughts are better safe than sorry, if something is wrong and i dont do it etc. So 10.45pm a lumber puncher was done. OMG i cried, cried heaps too, it didnt hurt as much as i thought but it still hurt, i would rather give birth again. (i remember Dakota at 5 weeks getting one so i freaked before they did it). The doctor was telling me the whole time what he was doing etc he said i need 4 tubes of fluid he got to the 3rd and i started feeling funny, got the 4th and i started getting worse, the needle came out and well i went down, nurse was a great catch or i would of hit the floor. (i hadnt eaten since 12 (noon)).
I was woken at 12.45 with results saying they found nothing and have to discharge me with a UFO. So at 1.30 i was texting mum to pick me up.
Well they still dont know what is casuing the numbness of the head but still feeling pain, they dont know why its going down my body, they dont know whats going on.
BUT... i do have steriods to take until finished then have to see a doctor, i may have to go to a chriopactor and see if they can do anything that might be connected to the head, neck back etc.
My back is still sore, not alot i can do, i am home on my own with 2 kiddies, lucky enough they are being semi good apart from Lukas not wanting a sleep at all today, Dakota watched her baby can read DVD's for 2 hours so that gave me some peace. Damian was due home on Thursday but being sent home tonight he lands in Auckland at 7pm and navy are putting him on a taxi to come home.
Claire my neighbour is cooking dinner for us all tonight and bringing it over:) i feel safe on the couch with my pillow on my back, head still hurts/itiches. just hope the drugs can clear it all up.
So yup scary for me and i did it all on my own in hosp:(
Glad to be home though
